MultiPerm H2O-CO2: H₂O and CO₂ Permeability Tester

MultiPerm H2O-CO2 is a permeability tester designed to determine water vapor and carbon dioxide transmission through films, barrier materials and multilayer structures.

The instrument measures WVTR (Water Vapor Transmission Rate) and CO₂TR (Carbon Dioxide Transmission Rate) under controlled temperature and relative humidity conditions.

Depending on the model, the one- or two-cell configuration allows testing of one or two samples, either simultaneously or sequentially. MultiPerm H2O-CO2 is suitable for characterizing plastic films, barrier films, laminates, metallized materials and co-extruded structures.

It is designed for research and development, material qualification and quality control laboratories, with applications in the food packaging, beverage, pharmaceutical and electronics industries.

What Does MultiPerm H2O-CO2 Measure?

MultiPerm H2O-CO2 measures the transmission of water vapor and carbon dioxide through packaging materials and barrier films.

  • Water vapor transmission rate (WVTR): evaluates the amount of water vapor passing through a material under specified test conditions.
  • Carbon dioxide transmission rate (CO₂TR): evaluates the amount of carbon dioxide passing through a material under specified test conditions.

These measurements help characterize material barrier performance and compare different films, laminates and multilayer structures in terms of moisture and carbon dioxide transmission.

MultiPerm is the only instrument on the market with patented technology that allows simultaneous barrier measurements for two different gases on one or two distinct samples. MultiPerm comes equipped with two sensors, which can be selected from oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

This instrument is designed to measure the permeability of plastic films, single-layer or multi-layer barrier films, metallized films, or those with special surface coatings, laminated or co-extruded, predominantly used in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries.

In addition to measuring the permeability of thin films, MultiPerm, equipped with modular accessories, can perform analyses on formed containers such as bag-in-box, PET bottles, and various other receptacles.

MultiPerm represents the ideal solution for companies that produce or utilize barrier packaging, offering the highest performance in a single instrument at a competitive price.

The advanced MultiPerm ExtraSolution® software ensures maximum operational simplicity. Users can start, monitor, and complete the measurements simply by selecting the appropriate tab in the software, which simultaneously and/or sequentially manages the analyses on one or two different samples (depending on whether it is a single or dual-cell model) for two different gases.

Choosing MultiPerm means making an intelligent choice that reduces costs and optimizes space. Why buy two different instruments when you can have everything in one with MultiPerm?
